I am a clock enthusiast who enjoys collecting and restoring clocks, but I do not offer clock repair services or sell clocks as a business
As a criminologist, I spent more than 20 years as an educator in the field of Criminal Justice at the college level before my retirement and reside in Nova Scotia, Canada.
As an amateur horologist over the last 15 years, I have developed a keen interest in restoring and collecting antique and vintage mechanical clocks. My clock collection currently numbers more than 85. I regularly update and manage my collection by selling some clocks and acquiring new ones.
I specialize in Canadian clocks, whether entirely made in Canada or assembled in Canada from parts sourced from other countries. In general, I am most interested in clocks that have a connection to Canada.
I am particularly interested in the history of Canadian clockmakers, such as the Pequegnat Clock Company of Canada, the Canada Clock Co., the Hamilton Clock Co., Martin Cheney of Montreal, and the Forestville Clock Company of Toronto, one of the last clock companies in Canada.
I also enjoy the challenges of clock case repair, reconstruction, and restoration. In addition, I have hobbies such as photography, furniture refinishing, and light carpentry.
My spouse and I find pleasure in integrating clock hunting with sightseeing and photography, resulting in overnight stays at captivating destinations where we encounter fascinating individuals and hear their interesting stories.
I have been a member of NAWCC (the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors) since 2012 and a member of Ottawa Chapter 111 of NAWCC. I also participate in several Facebook clock groups and the NAWCC discussion board.
